About

A leading oncologist, holding a PhD from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon, he combines clinical practice at the Medical Oncology Department of the Santa Maria Local Health Unit with teaching at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon and research at the Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine (GIMM-CARE). This triad — clinical practice, teaching, and science — translates into a standard of oncological excellence permanently grounded in the most current evidence and oriented towards well-informed decision-making.

Specialising in breast cancer, sarcomas, and colon cancer, he is the author of more than 30 scientific articles published in international journals, as well as numerous book chapters and oral presentations at national and international conferences. His scientific career has been recognised with 9 awards and 4 research grants — distinctions that reflect both the methodological rigour and the impact of his work on the advancement of knowledge in oncology.

At Clínica Mulher, he leads the women’s health oncology department with an integrated and deeply personalised approach. Each person who consults him finds not only a technically distinguished specialist, but someone capable of accompanying the full clinical journey — from diagnosis to the definition of a therapeutic plan, from a second opinion to ongoing follow-up. Always with the clarity, rigour, and human closeness that an oncological diagnosis demands.
