Behind the condition

Acne, simplified

Acne is an inflammatory skin condition that can appear at different stages of life, being most common during adolescence, but also manifesting during periods of hormonal changes such as pregnancy, the postpartum period or menopause. It is associated with changes in sebum production, pore blockage and bacterial proliferation, appearing mainly in areas with a higher concentration of sebaceous glands, such as the face, chest and back.
